Compared to a cotton rib, a welt stitched to a leather channel in the insole sits flatter on the shoe giving it a sharper feather edge.
Quicker break-in period
The combination of a thick insole and the welt sitting almost in-line with the insole, reduces the break-in period of the shoe significantly.

The thicker insole adds more stability and support to the feet resulting in a more comfortable experience even over an extended period of wear.
WHAT IS GOODYEAR WELTED?
With the invention of the goodyear welted machine in 1869, it was now made possible to make robustly constructed shoes in a factory setting. The construction separates the upper from the bottom part of the shoe with a thin strip of leather called the welt that run through the perimeter of the shoe allowing for the sole to be changed without affecting the upper.
A layer of cork paste between the insole and the outsole gives a cushion effect and takes the shape of the feet giving a snug and comfortable fit especially over extended periods of wear.
Since the basis of the construction is longevity and comfort, the materials used are mostly natural and premium quality.
Every Goodyear Welted Shoe goes through over 170 Processes, many of which require extreme precision and skill.

Unconventional. This one word is the ethos of the brand. We wanted to disrupt the market by changing the conventional way shoes were sold. We replaced stocking of leather shoes and went down the road of freshly handcrafted pairs on order. This was also a more conscious move for the planet allowing leathers to not be wasted as a result of dead stocking.

We source Full grain calf leathers from global certified tanneries and do the same for our soles. The quality of leather is what determines the life of the pair and trust us, its a no compromise for us. We are proud to have aligned with homegrown brands like ours who always value passion and quality. Today we have Box calf, Brushed calfskins, Various exotic skin prints, state of the art supple milled leathers and many more offerings to make a perfect pair for you.
PATINA & HAND TAMPONATION
Upper colouring dyes and finishing agents are the secret ingredient that give our shoes the gloss and finish that makes them second to none of the global brands. What if we told you we have a finishing wax with us that dates all the way back to 1905 and can only be procured from a Wax maker in Italy. Surprised? Well, don’t be as that is the extent to which we deep dive to make sure our product can stand heel to toe with every global brand today. Also our signature patina finishing that boasts 133 shades and counting.

Our standard construction is Blake stitching. It helps ensures a bulletproof wearing of the shoes. We go a step up and offer Goodyear welting as well. Comfort is never compromised given our emphasis on using the most cushioned footbeds for your feet and to support long standing hours. We are proud to do all 124 operations by hand and make a handmade shoe in the most true sense of the word.
